Gardner Magazine Upgrades Greater Gardner Weather Center
Gardner Magazine is pleased to announce that the Greater Gardner Weather Center has been upgraded. Here’s what you’ll find:
- Weather Forecasts from multiple sources including Forecast 7, Meteo Blue, Tomorrow Weather, Booked.net, Meteored, Weather Rx, and a detailed forecast from the National Weather Service.
- Fire Risk for multiple locations including Athol, Gardner, Ashburnham, Westminster, Fitchburg, and Worcester.

- Princeton Elections
The deadline to register to vote at the March 11, 2024 Special Town Meeting is Friday, March 1st at 5pm. The Special Town Meeting is at the Thomas Prince School, 3-11-24 at 6:30pm. Nomination papers for various offices will be available at the Town Clerk’s office on Tuesday, February 20th. Various deadlines are posted on the 2024 Political Calendar linked to above.

Electric Angst in the Toytown of Winchendon
For example, the basic service rate in Winchendon MA may be as high as 34 cents. However, at the site there’s a supplier under 17 cents (saving 50%) and several others in the 17 to 20 cent per kilowatt hour range. Click here.
Electric Frustration in the Chair City of Gardner MA
In Gardner, basic service has a supply rate of about 34 cents. The City of Gardner negotiated rate is just under 24 cents. However, there’s a supplier for 17 cents and a number well under 20 cents per kilowatt hour. Click here. Mosquito Control Team Back Again to Greater Gardner MA
The Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project is sending its team to the area on August 4, 11, 18, 25, and September 1. Dates are tentative and weather permitting. Nation including Greater Gardner MA has new number for National Suicide Prevention Lifeline
The new number, 988, is easy to remember and is designed to save lives. The number is accessible across the United States and will connect callers with a trained counselor at any time. You can even text the number and get a response.

Princeton MA Residents Again Organize for Earth Month
For the 3rd year in a row, Princeton residents have organized a town-wide Earth Month cleanup effort. Leading the effort are Princeton’s Environmental Action Committee and Open Space Committee. Actual cleanup begins April 1 or as soon as most of the snow has melted and will focus on roadsides in town, parks and playgrounds, and trails. - Princeton MA Citizens’ Caucus – Wednesday, March 9, 2022
From the town of Princeton MA, “The Citizens’ Caucus to nominate candidates for the May 9th, 2022, Annual Town Election will be held on Wednesday, March 9th, 2022, at 7pm at the Thomas Prince School Gymnasium. All Town of Princeton registered voters are invited to attend. A quorum of 25 registered voters is required to conduct the Caucus.
If you would like to be nominated, please have another Princeton voter nominate you for the office you will be running for. Those nominated at the Caucus will automatically have their names placed on the May 9, 2022, Annual Town Election ballot. Two names for each office may be nominated.
Anyone not nominated at the Caucus who intends to run for office may do so by taking out nomination papers from the Town Clerk’s Office. Signatures of 20 registered Princeton voters are needed to qualify for placement on the ballot. Nomination papers are available now. Please contact the Town Clerk’s office to schedule pickup. Nomination papers must be filed with the Registrars of Voters (Town Clerk’s Office) by 5 pm Monday, March 21, 2022. The last day to object to nominations or withdraw nomination papers is 5 pm Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
Nomnations may be made for the following offices: Selectboard – One (1) Three Year Term , Moderator – One (1) One Year Term, Board of Assessors – One (1) Three Year Term, Planning Board – One (1) Three Year Term, Trustee of Trust Funds – One (1) Two Year Term and One (1) Three Year Term, Electric Light Commission – One (1) Three Year Term, Wachusett Regional School Committee – One (1) Three Year Term.
