While the 2nd segment of the show will be the most talked about, the first segment of the program featured an interview with Gardner Mayor Michael Nicholson who promised to take his “People are Policy” approach to Boston and to work towards making sure cities and towns get what they deserve. The Mayor provided updates on various city projects. Nicholson also explained that whomever is City Council President in January will take over as full Mayor for the balance of the term and will also need to resign from the City Council.
Host Steve Wendell mentioned the nasty comments on Social Media which occurred during the campaign. Nicholson stated: “When other people make noise, we make a difference…none of what they’re saying is true.”
Steve Wendell went on with a segment about the disgusting allegations on Facebook against Mayor Michael Nicholson made by Paul DeMeo, Kimberly Blake, and Scott Graves. Wendell noted that candidate John Reilly personally attacked the Mayor using disgusting allegations which Wendell played during the show. Reilly asked: “why haven’t you defended yourself?” Of course, the Mayor has defended himself on numerous occasions stated the allegations are simply false (The same nonsense was perpetrated during the last Mayoral campaign) Wendell went on to say: Some Facebook members made some stupid comments because they are uneducated. Wendell stated that there is no evidence and went over some of the ridiculous comments. Wendell stated that Paul DeMeo snuck into City Hall to harass election workers stating about DeMeo, “he’s not even a registered voter in Gardner.” Wendell played some more AUDIO from Reilly regarding his platform which didn’t contain any platform, just certain personal and other things and people he cares about. Wendell “there you go, no issues, no platform, no information, no ways to fix the problem, Reilly didn’t know what he was talking about, that’s why he lost.”
Wendell went to a national report on what happened in the mid-term election featuring former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
