On the night of November 6, 2026, through the early morning of November 7, 2026, the City of Gardner Police Department responded to a high-risk barricade situation at 53 Waterford Street. The subject, identified as 42-year-old David Margeson, reportedly threatened violence, was potentially armed, and barricaded himself inside an apartment upon law enforcement’s arrival. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Following a multi-hour standoff involving de-escalation protocols and specialized assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Crisis Negotiation Team, Margeson surrendered peacefully at approximately 2:30 AM on November 7, 2026.
