Love to Hear WGAW – How a Local Station Became a World-Wide Sensation
When Station Owner Steve Wendell took over WGAW more than a decade ago, little did he know that his efforts would create a radio station respected throughout the region and the world, establishing something much larger than the sum of all of its parts.
Listen to “Love to Hear WGAW”, a song in the style of 1969 Classic Rock, on any device, CLICK PLAY.
Gardner Magazine frequently covers the WGAW Hotline Radio Show, the phenomenon which airs Saturdays from noon to 2pm. Covered are updates from local officials, interviews, reports, and commentary. It’s heard on AM 1340, 98.1 FM, and streams to everywhere in the world. After the show, thousands more hear each program which is archived on the radio station website and is generally featured in a weekly article right here on Gardner Magazine.
What Gardner Magazine doesn’t cover often is the programming featured the other 166 hours of the week, which is a carefully curated combination of news and talk with updated weather and community information sprinkled in along the way. A complete listing is available on the WGAW website at WGAW1340.com, CLICK HERE.
What’s fun is we’ve created a song about a station which doesn’t play music, but isn’t information the true music of our times?
