The WGAW Hotline Radio Show of August 8, 2026 featured a wide variety of topics. Gardner Mayor Michael Nicholson spoke about budget items including the high cost of employee health insurance. The Mayor spoke about the ongoing drought, Gardner projects, the CodeRed program and his ongoing campaign for State Rep. Host Steve Wendell put out the word once again that any official political candidate can get free airtime.
Segments on the show included: An interview with Veronica Patty at the Gardner National Night Out with Steve Wendell noting that the National Anthem was wonderful. There was a report on the Protect Act signed by Governor Maura Healey. Werner Poegel had a tongue-in-check commentary on Wendell’s Candidacy for Benevolent Dictator of the Commonwealth. Mike Urban had a commentary on American Muslims in Massachusetts as well as a separate interview with candidate for Governor Michael Minogue. The program concluded with a comprehensive Hotline Special Report on Cape Cod covering the land and its history.
