Host Steve Wendell opened the program with a reflection on the changing Fall weather and an encouragement for everyone to get out and have a great time in the U.S. and Worcester County. The audience was then treated to a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

The Mayor spoke about the City’s hiring freeze and its impact on the hiring of a Conservation Agent, the rising costs of insurance including the City’s health insurance, improvements to the Wastewater Treatment Plan, a number of grants received in the past week, the Mayor’s continued support of a single tax rate, the heating assistance program for middle income families, reasons for signing up for Code Red, and politics.
