To address the rising cost of home heating oil, Governor Healey has made additional Massachusetts state funds available to create a supplemental energy assistance program. Administered by the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities, the Middle-Income Heating Oil Relief initiative provides a one-time emergency benefit of up to $680 to thousands of middle-income households. The program specifically targets residents who rely on #2 home heating oil and whose income levels disqualify them from the standard Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP). Applications for the program are set to open in December 2026. Details on this page, CLICK HERE.
