Having just left the National Day of Prayer Celebration at Higher Ground Ministries, Gardner Mayor Nicholson did his update on the grounds of Monument Park where work is beginning on the 3rd phase of the Downtown Improvement Project. ADA compliant sidewalks will be installed, Victorian Light posts will be added, and some dying trees will be replaced. He also spoke of the new waterfront park and 40 space parking lot replacing the old National Grid substation.
Mayor Nicholson reflected on the start of the Relay for Life which is coming up June 9-10th at Mount Wachusett Community College. He spoke of the Conceptual Forefront Arts Festival taking place Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 11am to 4pm at Orpheum Park on Parker Street in Gardner. The Mayor announced that the Gardner Elementary School will have Spring Concerts on both May 9th and 10th at 6:30pm . The Mental Health Awareness Picnic takes place in the park on May 11th at 11am. The Keep Gardner Beautiful Event will take place on Saturday May 20th, starting at 8:30am. Also that day will be the Gardner City Wide Yard Sale and the permit requirement is waived for that day.
