  For April 2026, Petersham, MA, features several community-driven events, ranging from unique sporting competitions and local elections to specialized workshops and environmental seminars.

  Highlighted Community Events

  Cornhole & Curling Biathlon: April 3–4, 2026. This annual event hosted by the Petersham Curling Club and Orange Cornhole League combines a double-elimination cornhole tournament with a four-end curling game. An optional practice session is held on Friday, April 3, followed by the main tournament on Saturday, April 4.

  Annual Town Election: April 6, 2026. Voting takes place at the Town Hall from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Residents will vote on several key positions, including a contested seat for the Board of Health and openings on the Selectboard and Planning Board.

  Sewing and Craft Supplies Swap: April 25, 2026. Held at the Petersham Town Hall (downstairs) from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, this community swap allows neighbors to drop off unused materials and take home free supplies for new projects.

  Educational & Creative Workshops

  Harvard Forest Public Seminars: The Harvard Forest is hosting three research-focused seminars this month: — April 2: Ashley Lang on soil organic carbon classifications. — April 15: Steve Langdon on climate resilience in boreal peatlands. — April 29: Rebecca Snell on modeling forest regeneration.

  Petersham Art Center Workshops: The center features monthly clay workshops, including a Flower Vase workshop where participants can design custom slab-built vases.

  Local Government Meetings

  Public meetings held at the Lower Town Hall or Petersham Memorial Library include: — Selectboard: Regular meetings on April 2, 7, 9, 13, 16, 21, 23, and 30. — Conservation Commission: April 7 at 7:00 PM. — Petersham Historic District: April 16 at 6:00 PM. — Zoning Board of Appeals: April 28 at 7:00 PM.

  Town of Petersham Holds Meeting on Open Space and Recreation Update

  Petersham Rabies Clinic 2024 is taking place on Sunday February 17, 2024 at the 31 South Street Highway Barn. Details and a form at this link, CLICK HERE.   Nomination papers for the Annual Town Election, to be held on March 6, 2023, are now available. They may be obtained at the Town Clerk’s Office or the Selectmen’s Office until Friday, January 13, 2023, at 5:00 PM —- They must be returnedby Friday, January 13, 2023 at 5:00 PM.The last day to register to vote is February 24, 2023.   For example, the basic service rate in Winchendon MA may be as high as 34 cents. However, at the site there’s a supplier under 17 cents (saving 50%) and several others in the 17 to 20 cent per kilowatt hour range. Click here.

  Electric Frustration in the Chair City of Gardner MA

  In Gardner, basic service has a supply rate of about 34 cents. The City of Gardner negotiated rate is just under 24 cents. However, there’s a supplier for 17 cents and a number well under 20 cents per kilowatt hour. Click here.   Mosquito Control Team Back Again to Greater Gardner MA

  Nation including Greater Gardner MA has new number for National Suicide Prevention Lifeline

  The new number, 988, is easy to remember and is designed to save lives. The number is accessible across the United States and will connect callers with a trained counselor at any time. You can even text the number and get a response.
