Mayor Nicholson congratulated students from Gardner High School who participated in recent leadership programs at Stone Hill College and thanked the 300 third graders who recently visited Gardner City Hall as part of their learning about local government. He also spoke of the Summer Reading program of the Levi Heywood Memorial Library. And the Mayor spoke of some staffing changes at the schools.
Mayor Nicholson spoke of events: Thanked those who made the June 29th Concert possible, reminded about the Saturday, July 8, 2023 Food Truck Festival, and in 2 weeks, the Summer Centennial Celebration at MWCC. There are signup opportunities for the Sunday, September 17, 2023 parade. $100 fee, non-profits are free until July 15th when the fee becomes $25
The first quarter tax bills of the new Fiscal year have been sent out. And the City will have the benefit of an intern this summer in the Muncipal Finance Department.
Mayor Nicholson spoke of the Greenwood Pool opening and said the Splash Park is planned to be open sometime soon. Park Street Park area construction continues with expected completion in mid-August.
