The City Council Glass 1200

Publisher’s Note: Gardner Magazine makes a diligent effort to offer interview time and space for all branches of Gardner City Government, including the City Council so that we can inform you to the greatest extent possible. Council President Kazinskas has rejected our numerous and perhaps even irritating recent interview requests, although her interview with us in the Fall of 2022 was successful and popular among our readers. While we publish AUDIO of City Council meetings, Councillor Kazinskas rarely if ever, exercises her option to step down temporarily from the Chair to participate in debate – therefore without interviews we don’t fully get her opinions out to the public.

All Community Leaders are invited to submit Press Releases to News@GardnerMagazine.com which we are happy to publish in their entirety. We also have a Voicemail line which can be used to leave recorded statements which we will also publish in their entirety. Mayor Nicholson used this line to periodically inform citizens during the recent storm. All non-profit organizations are free to send us a Press Release anytime as well and we are open to publicizing your efforts via AUDIO interviews.

However, if there was not another candidate for the ward councilor position, as in this case because Nathan Boudreau ran unopposed, then the city council, by a majority vote, may elect a resident of the same ward to fill the vacancy for the unexpired term. It is unclear why the power to appoint changes to the power to elect.
